REVAMP -- I am back!

I am back.   I am going to try this blog thing again.

Lots of things I want to work on -- but after searching the internet - I realized that no one really captured the training and experience of going through a couch to century riding program.   So - that is what prompted me to start the blog again.

The blog will capture a lot of my new "ventures" but some are still the same as before.

At Red Cypress Brewery in Longwood, at 2:00 pm, I joined a group of about 75 others who were interested in the Couch to Century program offered by Florida Freewheelers.   Leslee Martin lead the session and explained that this program was for new riders, and it was all about the team.   I am nervous - since it seems like such a daunting distance.   Can you even imagine riding a bike for 100 miles?

At the kick off, there were people of all ages, shapes and sizes.   Leslee explained the program and made me feel like it was possible.   There will be clinics to help learn the basics of group rides and riding on the road.  I have to admit I don't really know how to change a tire -- I haven't done that in years.   The clinics will cover what we need to know to get us prepared.

I will keep you updated on my progress!

Beginning of the Ventures

In the beginning.....

I am starting this blog today to keep my goals and dreams on track.  These include my job/career search, weight loss, travel, and whatever comes along.

I was going to use the title "Curvy Girl Adventures" - but I did not for two reasons:
     1.  It was already taken
     2.  I like the definition of "ventures" because it implies more of a risk.

I will use this blog to keep posts on:
 - job search
 - move (??)
 - weight loss
 - running and races
 - travel
 - life in general

I left my job (more details on that later) and went on vacation to Hawaii (and then a short trip to Wendover).  Here is a starting photo for the blog:

Once I learn more about blogging, I will try to jazz up the site a bit better.

Talk to you later!
